7 Spring Summer 2024 Trends to Love
With the sudden rise in temperature, we’ve all probably already put our woollens away and are well on our way to ready our wardrobe for Spring and Summer. Dresses, jumpsuits, short skirts and breezy blouses – we’ve got to love the range our summer wardrobe gives us. And if you’re planning to buy some new pieces to add to your closet this season, here are 6 key Spring Summer fashion trends we’re absolutely loving:
1. Lace and Trims
Inspired by vintage styles (thank you Bridgerton), incorporating some lace in your outfit is totally in this season. You still want to keep it modern though, so think of a cami with some lace on the neckline or the hems. You can also experiment with frills and ruffles as they lend a vintage vibe while still keeping it cool and stylish.
2. Go Grunge
As you’ve probably already noticed how big of a comeback the 90s are making – this should be no surprise. Ripped denims, frayed jeans and grungy accessories are all the rage this season. You can go bold with a frayed denim skirt, fishnets and an edgy black top or wear a slightly oversized pair of cargo pants. After all, nothing screams Y2K like cargos and we’re definitely going to be seeing these a lot.
3. White on White
Keep it super chic and clean with this white on white trend. Inspired by the very trendy ‘vanilla girl’ aesthetic – white gives a feeling of purity and minimalism. We can’t say spring fashion without florals, and this ‘trend’ is pretty much a season staple but definitely worth a mention this year as we’ve seen it on a lot of runways and street fashion. Go bold and bright with floral prints and embroidery details. Floral printed dresses are going to be dominating, and also blouses and tops with floral details.
5. Silver Linings
Metallic clothing and accessories are ideal for parties and are big this season. You’ll be seeing outfits with silver and gold detailing everywhere. Whether it’s silver or gold foil prints, shimmery metallic sequin disco bags or metallic coloured footwear, this trend is here to make sure it’s everyone’s time to shine!
6. Black and Blues
While it may not be the most expected colour palette for the spring-summer, black and deep blues are definitely trending this season, and the return of grunge core definitely favours these colours. We have no doubt that they will be everywhere! Darker shades of blue like indigos are super in now and not just for denims but lighter fabrics too. We’re also seeing blacks in summer silhouettes or with florals taking over.
7. Animal Prints Forever
Take a walk on the wild side, as animal prints are once again dominating the fashion world. Leopard print, tiger stipes, snakeskin patterns – you name it. We’re seeing these in fun colours and paired with different prints in clothes or accessories to elevate it even further. Bold and so fierce – what’s not to love?
